Senior Account Manager
What You’ll Do
The Senior Tent Consultant maintains client relationships, pinpoints new business opportunities, and oversees intricate and multifaceted projects from initial consultation to the final billing phase. The role requires vigilant observation of industry trends to uncover emerging markets and opportunities as well as developing strategies to capitalize on those opportunities and grow revenue.
A comprehensive grasp of event operations is essential, and qualified applicants must possess the ability to coordinate with multiple vendors and a thorough knowledge of temporary structures, flooring, and their related components. In-house, the Senior Tent Consultant demonstrates leadership in helping to design and orchestrate projects undertaken by the entire sales team. This position requires a robust operational approach and innovative thinking in design and production, which are pivotal in attracting new clientele and fortifying the brand’s reputation.
Although headquartered in Bohemia, NY, the role may require regional and national travel to secure business and assist with project implementation, as well as an unwavering on-site commitment, often extending to weekends and evenings, to guarantee the flawless execution of projects. A standard workweek is observed, with at least two and a half days dedicated to office-based tasks. The Senior Tent Consultant operates under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Sales.
Primary Responsibilities
- Active engagement on-site, assisting with event installation, operations, and comprehensive project management.
- Managing job sites and production schedules, often in collaboration with multiple vendor partners.
- Ensure all documentation is in place for the successful installation of tented events.
- Provide clients with solutions, guidance on project design, layout, and comprehensive project management.
- Collaborate with other companies to identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities.
- Offer consistent support to clients throughout the planning, installation, and removal phases.
- Respond promptly to email and phone inquiries.
- Prepare detailed quotes tailored to specific event or site requirements.
- Collaborate with our in-house design team to develop site plans and interior layouts, ensuring compliance with permitting and on-site installation requirements.
- Update and maintain accurate client records within the company database.
- Prepare and update packing lists based on specific site needs and design sketches.
- Communicate any on-site changes during installation or removal to both operations and field supervisors, ensuring order accuracy.
- Coordinate project schedules with support staff, ensuring all necessary documentation for permitting is available.
- Leverage available resources for client prospecting and conversion.
- Foster and expand existing client relationships by introducing new products and opportunities.
- Work alongside the management team to develop marketing materials aimed at broadening market reach.
- Attend industry-specific events and trade shows to stay updated on new products and to nurture existing client relationships.
- Stay informed about industry trends and identify potential market growth opportunities.
- Introduce new products to clients and keep them informed about any changes in pricing, policies, or procedures.
- Oversee and reconcile receivables as directed by the Finance Department.
- Address any inventory discrepancies with operational support to mitigate potential challenges.
- Represent NY Tent in the market, emphasizing a positive attitude and exceptional service.
- Adhere to scheduled in-office days and update the shared calendar with details of off-site appointments, including invoice numbers, contact details, and event specifics.
- Attend all scheduled sales and company meetings at NY Tent.
- Possess thorough knowledge of all company products to facilitate cross-selling.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and honesty while representing the company.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual departmental sales and support targets.
- Adhere to and promote the company’s service quality standards.
- Engage in regular meetings with the VP of Sales to discuss sales activities, goal progression, and departmental performance.
- Offer support to other team members as required.
- Undertake any additional tasks or projects as directed by the immediate manager.
Position Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in tenting, large-scale sports, entertainment events, or a related industry.
- Profound knowledge of event operations and production, with a particular emphasis on the intricacies of executing successful tented events.
- Familiarity with tent products and their installation prerequisites.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven capability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in the sales process.
- Exceptional organizational, customer service, and communication abilities.
- A creative mindset.

- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
